Steps To Reproduce
I've noticed that ever since version 2025.10.0 of the BitWarden browser extension rolled out 12 days ago, I've had some fairly extreme performance issues with the extension enabled.
My environment:
- Fedora 43
- KDE Plasma 6.4.5
- Wayland
- Firefox 143.0.4 and Chrome 142.0.7444.59
- Bitwarden Extension 2025.10.0
This started when my extension updated 12 days ago to the 2025.10.0 version.
Example 1:
- Enable extension
- Browse to a youtube page. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHLnWQqTd6E
- Mouse over the timeline bar.
- Notice that there is a lot of lag on rendering the preview as you scrub over the timeline.
- Disable extension
- Mouse over the timeline bar
- Notice that it is buttery smooth
Example 2:
- Enable extension
- Log into an instance of Foundry VTT v13
- Notice that the FPS hangs around 55 FPS
- Activate a scene
- Notice that the scene has very noticeable hitching and input lag as you drag the view around
- Disable the extension
- FPS goes up to 60
- No more hitching or lag when dragging the scene
Expected Result
No impact on browser performance with the extension enabled!
Actual Result
A very large felt impact of having the browser extension enabled.
In Foundry this is extremely noticeable and makes the application unusable for me.

Issue Tracking Info
- I understand that work is tracked outside of Github. A PR will be linked to this issue should one be opened to address it, but Bitwarden doesn't use fields like "assigned", "milestone", or "project" to track progress.
