Five requests #4978
Description
Here are five feature requests, which would be great to have (at least for me). In no particular order:
- charts and visual output for database reporting and analysis (I believe this is, or has been, in the development timeline)
- markdown in text, and including LaTeX or equivalent for display of mathematics
- documentation including how to add a CSV file to a current table
- arbitrary sorting based on user-supplied criteria, for example, sorting vehicles based on type: ["City", "Sedan", "Station Wagon", "SUV", "4 Wheel Drive","Pickup Truck" ...] not necessarily in alphabetical order
- some sort of scripting, such as being able to write a function for checking the similarity of texts according to various metrics such as the Levenshtein distance (I'd love this to check similarity of names).
I appreciate that Mathesar is an open-source project, and there is only so much development time available. But if any or all of the above could be squeezed into the development timeline somehow, I'd be delighted!
