Cannot set Command Palette extension alias to "direct"

Steps to reproduce

1. Open Command Palette settings
2. Go to Extensions
3. Click on an extension installed from WinGet/Microsoft Store
4. Under Commands, enter a character in the Alias field
5. Toggle Indirect/Direct

✔️ Expected Behavior

The toggle switches on/off.

❌ Actual Behavior

The entered alias gets deleted, and the switch toggles itself off and gets grayed out. After that, the first input in the alias field is ignored.

I have the same issue. In my case, the toggle stays the same when pressed and clears the alias when pressed. No crashes on my case.
