Allow Adding Descriptions to Columns in the Structure Tab

It would be helpful to have a dedicated field for descriptions in the structure tab of a given table. After adding a new column, being able to provide a description would help other users. Having this feature or at least a workaround to add and consult column descriptions would greatly improve collaboration.

We are considering adding a FIELD_DESCRIPTIONS table to our database, with the following columns: TABLE_NAME, FIELD_NAME, and DESCRIPTION. This table would store the description or comment for each field across our database tables.
Is there a way to display this information directly within the Structure tab of a given table using data from the FIELD_DESCRIPTIONS table.
