Is there a future for non SaaS software ?

Hello Pawel, hello the comunity.

I would like to hear your thoughts on the future of locally installed softwares.

Everything seems to be done online now (Software as a Service), and most end users don't even know how to install software on their machines anymore.

Is there still a place for non-SaaS software?
It has many advantages: speed, data control and data confidentiality. But it also has disadvantages: updates and remote access.
I get the impression that everyone is entrusting their data to strangers without asking any questions.

Do you use SQLiteStudio to work on the database of a SaaS application, or do you work on a desktop application?

My question is not related to SQLiteStudio but general.

SQLiteStudio is desktop application for developers, not really for final users. You said that to me month ago when I tried to create my app for vegetable crop management with SQLiteStudio and pure SQL coding.
Sure SQLiteStudio is essential to deal with db (conception, maintenance, debugging...).

But what about final user db app ? Won't these applications all be replaced by SaaS app ?
I would like to hear developers' opinions on this issue.
Do SQLiteStudio users use it more often to produce SaaS apps or desktop apps ?

I don't collect statistics of how SQLiteStudio is used.

I'm not market expert to judge or predict future. I see pros and cons of both ways. Ideally both ways should co-exist. Both have their appliance.

How it will be? Some may attempt to take educated guess, but it's still just a guess. I won't make this attempt. I'll just say that I don't know.
