when searching, unable to select folderish content types which can be used as images

When I want to insert an image, if I use the search feature and am in list view mode (as opposed to thumbnail view), the search results correctly return the item I want, but because the item is also folderish, the radio button that I would click on to select that item is not there. Instead, there is a dropdown triangle icon.

I made a fix for this here: d9ff2c6
Perhaps it is more of a workaround than a comprehensive solution, but seems to work for our use case.
